I am Lenny, 37 years old and I live in the Netherlands, near the coast. Six months ago, I was diagnosed with lung cancer, Ros1. A spot with some infected glands appeared after surgery. I decided, against the doctors' advice, not to do chemo. A short time after surgery, I felt a lump in one of my breasts. This turned out to be a metastasis and then again I got all the known scans, with a bad result.
A total of 3 metastases (breast, ischium, back). Two of them unfortunately turned out to be visible on previous scans anyway but were not detected earlier. My doctor told me that I can wait on taking medication until after the summer. So now I am enjoying a nice vacation with my husband and 7-year-old daughter. In the fall I will start the medication.
I read a lot in this group in preparation for what is to come. For me, it's not only a source for information, but I also see this group as mental support. Most of all, I stay positive by living in the moment more often.
I wish you all the best! The photo is from Thailand.
